Abstract

This article clearly explains and explores the place, significance, and role of

emotion as a poetic element through the interpretation of selected poetic

examples. The study highlights the importance of emotional values in both

human life and the world of poetry and literature. To a considerable extent, it

contributes to resolving the theoretical problem of understanding the emotional

dimension of poetry. It also analyzes and explains the various forms and aspects

of emotion in Pashto poetry. The primary objective of this research is to

examine and identify the values of emotion in poetry, while also demonstrating

the benefits and effects of emotional poetry through the analysis of poetic

examples. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach and is based on

library research. Using the descriptive research method, it draws on a wide

range of theoretical and creative literary works. Based on the research

questions, the study concludes that, alongside other poetic elements, emotion

occupies a unique and indispensable place in poetry and cannot be overlooked

in the process of literary criticism.
